During our pre-session phone consultation (all my senior packages include a free location and wardrobe consultation!), Karlee and her mom talked about splitting her session between summer and fall. Splitting a session offers a bit more variety in images, AND we get to spend a little more time together, too!
We started Karlee’s summer session at Old Woman Creek, a wonderfully tucked away beach that is normally free of people (I know, a public place with no people is an oxymoron!). Many times when I visit the same location from year to year, the surroundings will change just a bit and in this case, I was surprised and happy to see a large field of wildflowers that worked beautifully as a backdrop for Miss Karlee. I find these type of changes in surroundings especially at beaches where driftwood and logs will come and go, and even the shoreline will change. We never know what to expect from ol’ Mother Nature!
I am always a fan of senior gals wearing long, flowy dresses. I loved Karlee’s choice of a brown and cream dress that blended perfectly with the green and yellow backdrop. Karlee is a natural beauty with the biggest brown eyes; check them out in the images below!
Look at those beautiful brown eyes!
We met again in October for Karlee’s fall session that took place at the arboretum at Firelands college. The fall colors and wildflowers were at their peak, providing a gorgeous backdrop for her images. Fall is my favorite season both personally (love the cooler temps) and photographically. (You’ll see me gravitating to a fall palette in my home decorating and clothing choices, too!) It was absolutely a perfect environment. What’s perfect you ask? No wind, soft light that created a beautiful rim light for Karlee’s long locks, a variety of backdrops within walking distance, and a wonderful young lady who was as sweet as she is beautiful! Take a look to see which season you prefer. Can’t decide? We can do both!
Thanks for reading, friends!
