Jessica + Nathan’s Intimate Micro Wedding | Maumee Bay Lodge | Oregon, Ohio

Let’s talk about the magic of intimate micro weddings! Just because the guest list is shorter, doesn’t mean the day is any less meaningful!

Micro weddings can offer an intimate, deeply personal way to say “I do,” surrounded by the bride and groom’s closest loved ones. With fewer distractions and more intentional details, these celebrations often feel even more magical. The location can be a backyard, a cozy venue, or a favorite getaway spot, which was the case with Nathan and Jessica’s intimate micro wedding!

Anyone remember the blog post from last year featuring me hiding behind a tree to capture a surprise proposal? Well, that was Nathan proposing to his beautiful now wife, Jessica! I was so excited and honored when a little while after that surprise session, Jessica contacted me about photographing their wedding that May; of course, I said YES!

Jessica and Nathan’s wedding was held at Maumee Bay Lodge and Conference Center, located in Oregon, Ohio, a place where Jessica spent many childhood summers riding her bike through the beautiful resort. It was the perfect location for their small, intimate micro-wedding where they married on the lake front on a blue-skied-with-puffy-clouded day underneath a flowered-filled arch (with a couple absolutely glowing with happiness!). Every moment felt personal, joyful, and full of heart.

The couple readied in hotel rooms conveniently located right at the resort. The ceremony site was a few feet away outside the hotel rooms with a nice long sidewalk for Jessica’s dad to escort her to the love of her life. After the ceremony, we walked around the beautiful grounds and took some stunning images of the newlyweds.

Micro weddings prove that love doesn’t need a crowd to shine bright, and with Nathan and Jessica’s day, there was a whole lotta love packed into around three hours’ time. I think you’ll see that in their images I’m sharing below. I hope you enjoy them!
