The week before the big day, the forecast was not looking good. There was rain predicted for the entire day, so of course we were all a bit nervous. Fast forward to Saturday; I wake up and peer out the window and it was perfect outside: I saw no rain with overcast skies (I know everyone wants sun on their wedding day, but trust me when I say clouds are good!). It was supposed to be a stressful day full of checking the radar and making last minute pivots (to what I call Plan B) and instead, it all worked out! We were able to shoot at Emily’s home (one of her favorite places nestled in the woods) during her getting ready time and though the clouds remained all day, the grounds of the Sandusky Yacht Club made the perfect backdrop for their wedding party images.
Emily’s wedding gown was gorgeous, but the best part was the hand sewn, long-sleeved, bow-wrapped “topper”! It was absolutely beautiful and added such an elegant aspect to her wedding attire.
Emily’s pup was there during her getting ready time and kept popping in and out of her images (she didn’t mind!) Check out his wedding tie!!
During the reception, Emily’s musically talented brother Evan serenaded the couple with a popular song with modified lyrics to suite his sister. It was a crowd hit, soliciting laughter and smiles all around. So unique!
The best part is I got to capture it all and meet their friends and family. Everyone made us feel so welcomed and boy did they give great hugs! Pato adores Emily (who wouldn’t?) and Emily couldn’t stop smiling her infectious smile while looking at her new husband. From the first look as Pato saw Emily coming down the aisle to the little moments throughout the night, I can tell that these two are so happy to be starting this new chapter of their LOVE STORY.
Emily and Pato, it was truly my honor to have you as the final PJP wedding of 2023! Thank you for trusting me to document your special day! Here are some images I’d like to share with you all!
Of course the guys had to incorporate watching the Ohio State Buckeyes game during their getting ready time (I’m not sure if they won or not!)
First look with Dads are one of my very favorite moments of the day; I love to incorporate mom in the images so she can share the spotlight during the touching moment with her daughter and husband. Sooooo sweet! (I always need Kleenexes!)
We all know that Mother Nature is the one thing we cannot control on our wedding days! Luckily, on this day, our weather forecasters were wrong! Although it was a bit chilly and windy, we were able to venture out onto the grounds of the Sandusky Yacht Club for bridal party images (which made me super happy and relieved!)
Thank you Emily + Pato for the privilege of documenting your special day; wishing you gobs of happiness and boatloads of love.
And, thanks for reading, friends!
(P.S. If you’re looking for someone to partner with to document your wedding, inquire here! I’d love to photograph this very special chapter of your LOVE STORY!)
